How about HOLY COW!
I was talking to my cousin one time who was an Elder and said to him........ HOLY COW! He told me that cows ain't Holy and Witnesses shouldn't use words like that.
bahbuttons said: another time i accidently told a kid god bless you in the kh and you'd think i just said every swear word known to man with the looks i got from everyone....another embaressing moment that was.............fond memories eh,lolquoteendquoteeend.
th is an interesting point.
apostates always bang on about watchtower double speak and the way the society twists words, investing them with mind-control triggers but rarely do we hear about censorship by omission, the words jw's can't speak.
I was talking to my cousin one time who was an Elder and said to him........ HOLY COW! He told me that cows ain't Holy and Witnesses shouldn't use words like that.
you will hear jws coming out with two things that are completely contradictory which they take to both prove the same thing.. 1. they have massive growth and that proves that jehovah is blessing the work they do.
2. they are not as large as the catholic church which proves that they are the 'narrow path' leading to salvation.
so, having a lot of followers and also not having a lot of followers are both proof that you are the one and true religion.. hmmn, ok ... but there is more.. think about what they believe regarding #1 above ... that growth is evidence that jehovah is blessing their work.. how does that work exactly?.
Watchtower July 1, 2002, p.13, paragraph 17-19 Now is the time for Jehovah to express mercy to his anointed servants and their other sheep companions. The evidence that this is so is the extraordinary increase with which he has blessed them… 18. Each year, hundreds of thousands of additional "foreigners" associate with Jehovah's organisation, and the way will remain open for many more to follow them. Jehovah says to Zion: "Your gates will actually be kept open constantly; they will not be closed even by day or by night, in order to bring to you the resources of the nations, and their kings will be taking the lead" (Isaiah 60:11) Some opposers try to close those 'gates,' but we know that they cannot succeed. Jehovah himself has said that one way or another, the gates will stay open. The increase will continue. 19. There are still other ways that Jehovah has blessed his people, making them beautiful in these last days. [Emphasis Added] | |||||||||||||||||||||||
Examining the Scriptures Daily, May 19th, 2002 Of course, the number of those associated with Jehovah's Witnesses is not a criterion for determining if they enjoy divine favor. |

When I finally knew that the WTS didn't have the truth,I decided to take steps to slow down and become an inactive member. ( I still have my whole family in.......so..... I prefer to remain inactive)
I took these small steps :
Stopped answering at Book Study
Stopped answering at the Kingdom Hall
Took myself off the Ministry School
Stopped attending Book Study
Stopped going out in service
Stopped reading any literature......Awake......Watchtower......Books
Stopped attending assemblies
Stopped attending Ministry School
I still attend some Sunday meetings and attend every Memorial.
What steps did you take?
anything come to mind??
?.
MINIMUS
I always thought that the WTS was a Bible based religion and everyone was there to learn the Bible and apply it in their lives. Everyone had their own Bible and carried it to every meeting. All talks, magazine articles, service meetings, assemblies, and home Bible studies, the Bible was used. We were taught that only the Witnesses read or understood the Bible.
I now know that the WTS is just a real estate and book publishing corporation hiding in the name of religion. They publish too many books, produce too many bi-weekly Watchtower magazines, yearbooks, calenders, and way too much literature for everyone to read. The meetings are nothing but a sales meeting to inspire the troops and send them out for mass distribution. (Make sure that everyone hands in a time slip every month so the WTS keep track of who is loyal or needs the whip).
I found this explanation from a N.I.V BIBLE COMMENTARY:
John 10:16
OTHER SHEEP = It is commonly understood that Jesus was referring to the future Gentile believers as His "other sheep." He was telling His Jewish disciples that His flock would include believers from all nationalities. But Jehovah's Witnesses attach a different meaning to this text. They contrast the "other sheep" here with the "little flock" mentioned in Luke 12:32. JWs say the "little flock" are the 144,000 spirit-anointed believers who make up the body of Christ and who will go to heaven, while the "other sheep" include all other believers who receive everlasting life here on earth. JWs teach that the opportunity to become part of the "little flock" ended back in the year 1935, so more than 99 percent of JWs today consider themselves in the "other sheep" class. To refute the doctrine that Christians are divided into heavenly and earthly classes, see Revelation 7:4 (about the "little flock" of the 144,000), and Revelation 7:9 (about the "great crowd" of "other sheep"). In addition, JWs teach that all pre-Christian believers are in the "other sheep" class, thus Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, the prophets, and so on, do not go to heaven. The best response is to read Hebrews 11:1-40 with a special emphasis on Hebrews 11:13, 16 showing they desired a "heavenly" country and a "city." Hebrews 12:22 indicates this is the heavenly Jerusalem. Paul contrasts the enemies of Christ as those who have their "minds on earthly things" while the Christian has his "citizenship in heaven" (Philippians 3:19, 20). Also see related JW texts in Psalm 37:9, 11; Psalm 37:29; Psalm 115:16; Luke 23:43; and Revelation 7:9.
all right boys and girls.
the devival is coming!.
annual conventions to begin in may 2009. jehovahs witnesses have organized the keep on the watch!
WHAT THE 2009 THEME SHOULD BE CALLED: '' KEEP ON THE WATCH CAUSE OUR WATCH HAS BEEN BROKEN SINCE 1879."
i believe that the entire watchtower religion/publishing company is built on the foundation of the chosen "faithful and discreet slave".
there really isn't a ''faithful and discreet slave'' or any men or women that are chosen to form a ''faithful and discreet'' class.
the governing body and lawyers control the wts.
Wouldn't these men and women be put to a greater use?
If women are included in this group of 144,000, what is the official reason the WTS give as to why they can't pray for the congregation, conduct a book study, become an Elder,Circuit Overseer,or District Overseer ? What benefit are they if they can't take part in any of these functions?
how do you read?
q 7. what can we encourage those who have strayed from the flock to do?.
106:13) it may be helpful to remind an inactive one that "the faithful and discreet slave" is dispensing excellent spiritual food.
They are the masters in taking Jesus away and putting the ''faithful and discreet slave'' in his place. Notice paragraph 1 how Jesus had ''sayings of everlasting life." Notice paragraphs 10,11 how the ''faithful and discreet slave'' have the sayings of everlasting life( spiritual food ) and not Jesus.
Also, paragraphs 10,11 mention how the Israelites "forgot God's works". They replace God's works with....'' today some forget how the person originally learned the truth from( the faithful and discreet slave).''
Q1. What did Peter say when many disciples abandoned Jesus?
JESUS CHRIST was once abandoned by many disciples who rejected one of his teachings. "You do not want to go also, do you?" he asked his apostles. Peter replied: "Lord, whom shall we go away to? You have sayings of everlasting life." (John 6:51-69)
Q 10, 11. What reasoning may be effective in trying to help one who had a different understanding of some Bible teaching?
10. Some may have left God's flock because they did not agree with some Scriptural teaching. The Israelites freed from Egyptian bondage "forgot [God's] works" on their behalf and "did not wait for his counsel" (Ps. 106:13) It may be helpful to remind an inactive one that "the faithful and discreet slave" is dispensing excellent spiritual food. (Matt. 24:45) That is how the person originally learned the truth. So why should he not be determined to walk in the truth again? -2 John 4.
The entire Watchtower is built on the foundation of the chosen "faithful and discreet slave". Once that collapses the whole foundation cracks.

HELP THOSE WHO STRAY FROM THE FLOCK
"Rejoice with me, because I have found my sheep that was lost."--LUKE 15:6
According to the WTS,the reasons why members become inactive:
Discouragement, health problems, or other factors may have weakened their zeal.
Satan takes advantage of fleshly weaknesses and uses the world in an attempt to lead Jehovah's sheep into sinful activities.
Inactive ones are particularly vulnerable and therefore need assistance in order to apply the admonition to 'walk by spirit.
In the present system of things, many people spend an entire lifetime trying to amass wealth, but just one life is worth much more than all the money in the world. Jesus emphasized this in his illustration of the lost sheep.
The real reasons why I and many others become inactive:
Too many meetings, never doing enough, service time slips, disfellowshipping policies,U.N. debacle, the ''generation'' change, the increase of Memorial partakers, child molestation lawsuits, blood policy(no whole blood but can take fractions),WTS selling New York real estate when the ''end'' is so near,no more subscriptions of the Watchtower(must pick it up at local congregation....afraid Blondie will tear it apart) and many others.
Great job BLONDIE!
can someone scan the whole article for me?
i found a great answer to my question: could the "memorial" night and number of partakers be all fake?.

| I don't believe the published number of partakers is accurate. The number went down previously because the Watchtower Society wanted the number to go down, because it provided them with some "evidence" for the nearness of the end. Now the number is going up because the Society WANTS it to go up. Why? One possibility is that artificially raising the number of partakers provides the WTS with a means of doing away with the 1935 cutoff year for anointed. Given the fact that the Governing Body knows full well their prophesied "end" is NOT just around the corner, they needed to do away with the 1935 year. If they didn't get rid of the 1935 cutoff they'd eventually run out of anointed in the same way that they ran out of the "1914 generation". Running out of anointed means no more "faithful and discreet slave", and where is that concept in their end-time doctrine? The entire Watchtower religion/publishing company is built on the foundation of the chosen "faithful and discreet slave". No memorial partakers means no slave means no governing body means no Watchtower religion. When the 1914 generation dwindled to the point of no return, the WTS dumped the date. The 1935 generation has approached the same point. By artificially raising the number of partakers, the Society can then point at the increase in partakers as "evidence" that 1935 was not the cutoff after all. Note: *** w07 5/1 pp. 30-31 Questions From Readers *** Hence, especially after 1966 it was believed that the heavenly call ceased in 1935. This seemed to be confirmed when almost all who were baptized after 1935 felt that they had the earthly hope. Thereafter, any called to the heavenly hope were believed to be replacements for anointed Christians who had proved unfaithful. Without a doubt, if one of the anointed unrepentantly falls away, Jehovah does call another individual to take his place. (Romans 11:17-22) However, the number of genuine anointed ones who have become unfaithful is likely not large. On the other hand, as time has gone by, some Christians baptized after 1935 have had witness borne to them that they have the heavenly hope. (Romans 8:16, 17) Thus, it appears that we cannot set a specific date for when the calling of Christians to the heavenly hope ends. So the Society points to the (artificial) increase in partakers as evidence that the calling of anointed did not end in 1935: "Thus, it appears that we cannot set a specific date for when the calling of Christians to the heavenly hope ends." This opens the door for more anointed, which extends the collective lifetime of the "faithful and discreet slave" and by extension the governing body. |
